Whale’s Tail Charters offers a fun and exciting way to see whales and explore the beautiful Oregon coast! Our low to the water boats are comfortable, quiet, and highly maneuverable, offering an incredible perspective of whales and other marine wildlife along with the stunning coastal scenery.

There is no overcrowding, no diesel fumes to smell. With 360° viewing, fast quiet engines, you will get to spend more time around the whales.

Oregon Whale Watching Tours | Gray Whale Flukes. The gray whale has no dorsal fin. About 2/3 of the way back on its body is a prominent dorsal hump followed by a series of 6-12 knuckles along the dorsal ridge that extend to the flukes (tail lobes). Its flippers are paddle shaped and pointed at the tips.

When the tail fluke goes under the ocean’s surface it leaves a characteristic print called a “fluke print”. Fluke print is a large circle of smooth water formed by tail fluke turbulence when a whale dives.
