Whale Sightings

August 9, 2020

Thermal low develops today with increasing winds of 25-30 knots and seas building to 13′. With these conditions it looks doubtful we will be able to whale watch. This weather pattern will be with us through Monday.

Gray whales are opportunistic feeders, which means they will eat food from a wide range of sources. Along the coast of Depoe Bay, Oregon they mostly feed on mysid shrimp found at the edge of kelp beds. There are billions of mysids found in the waters off Depoe Bay.
